SOF-IEO

The International English Olympiad (IEO) is an assessment of English language & Grammar examination for pupils of grade 1 to class grade 12. It is administered by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) in association with British Council. The nature of assessments is meant to emphasise on interaction and use of English language, instead of  accurate grammar solely. Competitors of IEO are evaluated in terms of scores received in 1st Level. Upon completing the very first stage of test, students can rate themselves academically at four distinct levels - inter school, at city scale, at state and local level and above all at World stage.

Levels of Assessments

International English Olympiad (IEO) has two levels of assessments, Level 1 & Level 2, Individuals whose succeed for the tier two IEO examination include:

  • Top 5 percent of pupils class level, who participate for the first level test, 
  • State wise top 25 rank holders class wise
  • Class toppers of each institution when at least 10 pupils from a class appear in the test & gets 50 percent qualifying marks. 
  •  Learners from Grade 1 and 2 are not required to participate again for 2nd level test and thus are evaluated based on their results in first level exam.
